Yikes! You realize it is going to take more than a day to sail to a safe port.  Assume each person in your tribe needs 32 ounces of water each day to survive.  How much water will you need to pack for a 4 day journey? Convert the total ounces to quarts.  How will you transport that much water in your sailboat? Submit to the library

Take a look at the cards you have purchased with your points for weeks 1 through 3. Explain how each of these items have helped you survive while you have been stranded on the island.  Submit to the library

The winds have died! Sailing away is no longer an option.  How will your tribe be saved from this deserted island?  Create another plan to get everyone off of the island.  Submit to the library.

There is a huge waterfall on your island that you have had fun playing in - you will miss it when you leave! You have often wondered if you could use the energy from this waterfall to create electricity.  How might you do it?  Submit your idea/plan to the library.

Escape is looking like it's no longer a possibility...write a note to put in a bottle, describing your experiences on this deserted island, and asking for help.  Submit to the library

Over the past three weeks, you have noticed that there are an unusual number of very colorful birds on your island - they are classified as "Birds of Paradise."  Look up "Birds of Paradise" and find 5 different types of these very colorful birds to submit to the library.

For an extra task card:  Create a color picture of one of the Birds of Paradise on your list.

You might need to worry about sharks while you make your escape! Read the article "20 Things You Didn't Know About Sharks" in the
July/August issue of Discover Magazine (in the library). Read the article and list the 5 most important things you think you would be
good to know...        Submit the list to a librarian
